I am really excited to write this review today.  I have been using the Kids Start Spanish Program with my 5 and 8 year old for the last few months.  It is a very well designed program that teaches Spanish through immersion. ……Another great part of Kids Start Spanish is that the children learn to speak and read Spanish.  I love that.  You can watch the video below to see all the products and my 5 year old reading 25 words in Spanish.  To learn more visit www.kidstartspanish.com.  You will be glad you did.

Caleb loves watching his Kid Start Spanish early learning program with his Father and it shows! The book he is reading on the video is “Los Zapatos Perdidos de Lola” and it is available at your local library. Caleb loves being bilingual, if you catch him on the street he will speak to you in English, if he thinks you don’t understand what he’s saying then he’ll quickly switch to Spanish. Caleb can speak Spanish, as well as English and has perfect pronunciation in both (for a 2 yr old). If he’s not in the mood to talk to you, he’ll speak to you in whichever language you don’t speak, he thinks this is really funny 🙂 . Lately he’s even been practicing his French as well as taking up singing! If you see him in the car he’ll probably be watching his Spanish language learning program on DVD while on the go.

Having dedicated my life to being a Spanish teacher, I’ve never been a big believer in programs that promise to teach your child a new language by simply plopping them down in front of a TV screen. However, after seeing Kid Start Spanish in action, I must say that I’m a believer (can’t help but to think of Shrek movie when I say that 🙂 ).
I think one of the important factors that this program brings to the table is the ability to immerse children into a completely Spanish environment. With this program DVDs are just a small part of the equation, the program also include books, games, flashcards, apps, and mobile video. This full immersion environment combined with the friendliness and warmth of home learning (shown to be superior to classroom learning) provides a surprisingly effective means to teach a language.
I’ve seen first hand the rapid language development in children using Kid Start Spanish. One of the toughest obstacles to overcome in teaching a child Spanish is usually getting them to Speak the language rather just listen and understand (Latin parents here in the US know exactly what I’m saying). Kid Start Spanish seems to create a nice little environment where kids start to feel free to speak and use their newly acquired language. I believe this model could be used to teach any number of things. But I can’t imagine a better way to boost your child’s development long-term than teaching them a new language. Even being a teacher I must admit there is always down time and times where I don’t get to spend as much quality time with my child as I should. One of my parents uses it strictly during car rides, and I’ve seen her child start to enjoy and practice using the language from just using it during the morning and afternoon car rides. Another one of my moms tells me that her son is now teaching her Spanish. It really does what it says.
I hope that they develop something similar for English as there are many parents I know in Latin America who would very interested in using the Kid Start Spanish “immersion” system for teaching English as well. Ciao!

This is the best Spanish program there is! Ive tried many different programs, Spanish programs, multi-lingual programs and other educational DVDs for my son; this is by far the best! He is a very active baby boy and Kid Start Spanish is the only thing he will sit down for.

What makes it even better is, it actually works. My son understands Spanish, answers questions and even says a few words in Spanish.

He loves the songs and children and I love the educational content, Spanish, reading, geography, colors, and so much more
